Waste Minimization Program: Waste Segregation Guidelines
When adding waste to waste containers, be sure to follow simple guidelines of separation. If you have specific questions, contact Environmental Health & Safety (x 4305).
Alternatively, the fewer containers designated for disposal, the lower the associated costs. Keep in mind the 90-day storage limit and the type of waste (some types have upper storage limits at quantities of one quart). Always try to store liquid waste in one- or five-gallon containers. Make sure you continue to label the container's contents in detail.
See Hazardous Waste for additional information on storage and labeling of waste.
